What does the group do?

Making a cosy wrap for Premature babies is an easy way to use up odd wool you may have and helps to keep those stiffening fingers a wee bit supple. You do not have to be an ace knitter. It’s easy to knit or crochet 4 or 5 of these 3 inch squares while watching TV. It takes around 80 coloured squares sewn together to make a baby wrap and Stella is happy to sew the squares you so kindly produce.

Level of expertise

Any level

Equipment required

4mm needles and double knitting yarn.

Stella’s pattern: Cast/increase 1 at the start of every row to 20 stitches, then cast off 1 at the start of every row to the end.

Please say if you can improve on this pattern.

Meetings

This group does not hold meetings, but please bring your completed squares to the monthly Coffee Morning where Stella will collect them.

Cost

Please use up any spare wool and remains.

What does the group do?

We are an oral Story Telling Group. Our stories can be tales we have written, real or fictitious, folk tales we have researched or myths and legends that have grasped our imagination. The emphasis is on oral presentation.

Once or twice a year we hold a public storytelling event and tells our stories to other U3A groups as requested. Not all the members perform at these events, just those who wish to.

Meetings

We no longer have regular meetings but meet to rehearse our tales and organise our events when required.

What does the group do?

This is a new group run by Philippa Bower. The aim is to stimulate your creativity. We have been fortunate in that much of the material has been donated and we are always looking for further donations. As a result, we can charge just £1 for tea, biscuits and materials. Bring your own scissors and glue or double-sided tape.

Meetings

We meet in a host’s home in Littlehampton on the fourth Thursday of the month from 2pm to 4pm. Numbers are limited and at the moment the group is full.
