What does the group do?

This is a mixed experience group of beginner and intermediate players (but not complete beginners), hosted by Rod who is not a guitar teacher but believes in learning by playing with others. We are all capable of playing a range of tunes and songs which include both basic and barre chords. We also have a couple of singers in our midst.

Level of Expertise

We expect our members to be able to play basic chord progressions either by strumming or finger-picking. There is also a high level of support for each other within the group. However, we are not able to accommodate complete beginners.

Equipment required

Your guitar, tuner, music stand, pick and pencil.

Meetings

Every Monday from 14:00 To 16:00 — Jubilee Hall, Southfields Road, Littlehampton.

Cost

We share the cost of the hall which equates to approximately £3.50 / week / member.

What does the group do?

We are an enthusiastic and light-hearted group. No singing experience is necessary and whilst the ability to read music would be useful, it is not essential. Our bass section could do with a boost, so any willing male choristers would be especially welcome.

Meetings

Our choir meets every Wednesday, 14:00 – 16:00.

Venue

St Mary’s Hall, Church Street, Littlehampton.

Group Leader

Administration is dealt with by Sue Dainty.

What does the group do?

This is a Ukulele workshop where songs are performed using fairly straightforward chords. It is not a teaching group, but if you’d like to give it a try come along to a session and just join in. Most people find this the best way to learn and the sessions are great fun. The group is open to all members of Littlehampton and Arun West U3As and welcomes new members for a taster session before joining.
Any member wishing to join this, please contact the group leader for information.

Equipment required

A ukulele of any type, and cheap Japanese ones are a good way to get started. The music played can be downloaded from this group page or is available in bound volumes of 50 for £5 each.

We currently have two ukulele groups…
